Moderating Role of Social Support on the Relationship between Posttraumatic Stress Disorder(PTSD) and Drinking Behavior among Employees

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate moderating role of social support between posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) and drinking behavior among employees. Data were collected from 392 employees in Jeollabuk do. Collected data were analyzed by frequency, t-test, moderated multiple regression and simple slope analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, 20.4% of subjects showed problem drinking group and male, no-religion, 20-29 years old, single, office worker, 1-4 years of working group showed more higher binge drinking, problem drinking. Second, normal, partial-PTSD, full-PTSD group showed the significant difference and full-PTSD group showed more problem drinking. Third, PTSD were significantly related to the drinking behavior. Fourth, social support moderated between PTSD and drinking behavior mong employees. These findings supported the importance of Employee Assistance Program(EAP) and mental health program in work settings. Suggestions of mental health social work were discussed and proposed future research.
